Ayuk Tabe Is Not Accused of Anything - Issa Tchiroma

No charge is currently held against the separatist leaders of Ambazonia arrested last January.

This is in any case what can be deduced from the remarks made on Radio France Internationale (RFI) by the Minister of Communication and government spokesman Issa Tchiroma Bakary.

In an interview with the English service of RFI, Minister Issa Tchiroma has indeed revealed that the Cameroonian judiciary is pursuing so far inquiries opened since three to determine the charges against the separatists.

But the minister is already saying that there is a good chance that separatists will be tried in a military court.

"These inmates are the brains behind the killings in the northwestern and southwestern regions. Many people were killed. Many people have been massacred ... the justice system will retaliate, "said Minister Tchiroma.

Regarding their detention conditions, the government spokesman said the separatist leaders were in good health and treated in accordance with the law.

Arrested in Nigeria on January 5, the English-speaking separatists including their leader Sisiku Ayuk Tabe were extradited a few days later to Cameroon.

No information has been leaked on their conditions of detention before the release of Minister Tchiroma.
