Diplomacy: When Will The tete-a-tete Between Paul Biya And Emmanuel Macron?

Since his arrival at the Elysee Palace in May 2017, Emmanuel Macron (39) has not yet had a tête-à-tête with Paul Biya (84). These are not the opportunities that have missed. 

The French Head of State and his Cameroonian counterpart took part together at the end of last September, at the 72nd UN General Assembly. But there was no hearing between the two personalities.

The two men met at the end of November at the 5th African Union-European Union Summit. This time, the two heads of state put one next to the other on the family photo.

A snapshot published on the website of the Presidency of the Republic of Cameroon shows a warm greeting between Biya and Macron. But again, there was no interview.

Paris, the French capital, hosts on December 12, 2017, an international summit called "One Planet Summit". Paul Biya is expected there. As a result, the hypotheses fuse on a probable meeting with his French counterpart, 45 years younger.

In its December 8 issue, L'Œil du Sahel argues that "the entourage of the two heads of state have this time maneuvered, each at his level, so that they can have a tête-à-tête. Indeed, the meeting was already in the pipe, it was just necessary to harmonize the diaries, "says the newspaper. Since his election, Emmanuel Macron has visited several African countries (Mali, Burkina-Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Algeria), but never in Cameroon. However, Paul Biya has already expressed his interest to meet him.
