State Budget: Biya Spends 730 Million A Week

Etoudi's unity palace, will receive an envelope of 38 billion 789 million CFA francs this fiscal year to come.

The news circulates a few days before the preparation of the 2028 budget in parliament. On 14 November, MEPs will meet at a session normally devoted to the budget review.

Recently, it was announced that the 2018 budget would increase by 140 billion CFA francs compared to 2017. The total budget of the Republic of Cameroon for the 2018 financial year is estimated at 4513 billion CFA francs.

The presidency of the Republic, for this year, will have a budget of 38 billion 789 million FCFA. With the year 2018 having 52 weeks, this means that of the envelope that Endoudi will receive, more than 730 million FCFA will be spent each week, a decrease compared to 43 billion last year (nearly 5 billion reductuon).

The rest of the budget should be distributed as follows: the National Assembly should receive 16 billion CFA francs, the services of the Prime Minister, more than 11 billion FCFA.

Some services such as the general delegation to national security will experience a budget increase of over 82 billion. The Ministry of Defense too (234 billion).
