Cameroon’s Sanate president does not have a Facebook account-director of cabinet

Marcel Niat Njifenji has in a statement issued Yesterday through his director of cabinet -Justin Njomatchoua, warned facebook users ,that the Sanate president does not have a Facebook account.

“Some malicious individuals have created and are operating an account on the social network Facebook on behalf of HE Mr. Marcel Niat Njifenji, President of Cameroon Senate.

Justin Njomatchoua notes that one of the initiators of this account is Mr. Owona Assoumou, who “uses the account to make fake promises to people with the aim of extorting money from them under the guise of Mr. President of the Senate “.

Contacted on Thursday 04 May,2017,by Journal du Cameroun, Mr. Owona Assoumou whose number appears in the press release of Justin Njomatchoua, seems not to be aware of the statement of the director of cabinet of the president of the Senate,But Mr. Owona Assoumou does not deny the charges against him.

Justin Njomatchoua’s statement also states that his boss, Marcel Niat Njifenji, “does not have an account or profile on the Facebook or any other social network”.

This is not the first time that a member of the Biya’s regime has warned the Internet users against fake profiles circulating on the social network. In 2015, for example, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o had to issue a press release to inform the public that he does not have an account on the Facebook or social media.

Facebook has become the preferred gambling ground for users who, scam many people because of their “supposed” position in society.
