Vapostori’s white wedding the talk of the town

FOR those who believe that glitz and glamour does not exist at Vapostori’s wedding they have to think again!

As has become the norm at Madzibaba Moses’ Johane Masowe eChishanu near Machipisa in Highfield, weddings are given the glamour that many thought was only reserved for other churches and the wealthy families in the country.

Sunday, May 29, was another day to remember as Kudzanayi Munyanyi and Karen Magunda tied the knot at Sam’s Gardens.

In an interview with H-Metro on the sidelines of the wedding Madzibaba Moses said weddings were sacred and should be properly planned so that people value their importance.

“As Vapostori we believe that weddings need proper planning not only for the bride and groom but also for the church as a whole. Weddings are sacred and only for those who follow the right way, we are so excited that Kudzanayi and Karen Magunda have tied the knot, it shows that both of them are obedient and that is why we have gathered here to celebrate with them.

“When you are a leader of such a big congregation, it gives me strength to continue preaching the gospel of faithfulness to the congregants because there are tangible results for those who do not go astray,” said Madzibaba Moses.

Madzibaba Moses said people needed to know that Vapostori have swag but are humble.

“We believe that for a wedding to be memorable and for the bride and groom to value it takes much planning and money. If you get a wife for free there is no guarantee that you will respect that wife and be with her for the rest of your life but when you customarily marry your wife and go on to tie the knot with her you will give her the respect that she deserves.
“Muchato wasiyana nerufu rwunouya vanhu vasingazive, isu mapositori hatisi vanhu vepasi tinotora nguva yedu kuronga michato yevana vedu kuti vaone kuti tinovakoshesa uye tinokoshesa wanano yavo. People think that Vapostori are a poor lot but let me put this straight, we are humble and we treat each other with respect.

“At our shrine no matter how rich you are we all wear the same apparel, remove our shoes, sit down and pray. Because of that people are bound to believe that we are poor but the truth is we are not but just humble and united, there are more than 3000 families at our shrine but we all contribute when our fellow members wed.

“This is not the first time for us to have one of our members have such a glamorous wedding and it is not also the end. We do this to inspire young people who are yet to get married so that they know what to do when their time comes, we do not discriminate anybody and as such we always find joy in assisting those we fellowship with.

“The reason why people divorce and why sexually transmitted diseases continue to spread is because people are not faithful and do not know the significance of marriage. Adultery and Fornication, despite being sins have robbed young couples of their lives, HIV and AIDS are real and young people should always guard their lives jealously and keep themselves safe for their future husbands.

“I wish Kudzanayi and Karen a happy and blessed marriage as they start their family,” he said.
