Mbare teenagers have se_x races at ‘passa-passa’ parties

The Zim dancehall wave has taken another twist as teenagers around Mbare are now engaged in random se_x sessions at passa-passa nights.

The revelations were made on Saturday at a students’ forum that was organised by the Friend of the Girl Child and Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe in commemorating the African Union campaign against child marriages.

Students implored policy makers to urgently look into the matter in order to curb the spread of diseases among the youth.

“At passa-passa nights youths are now engaging in random se_x sessions. It is actually a se_x race. This is actually a new phenomenon that we are witnessing here in Mbare. Boys and girls who are attending the sessions are engaging immorally. On these nights, at most three boys engage in se_xual activities with the same girl one after another.

“The one who takes long to ej_aculate becomes the winner and gets the girl,” said George, 20. In some instances, the passa-passa organisers are believed to randomly pick boys and girls who then engage in se_xual activities, with many doing so under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

“If there are three couples, they are taken in a room where they have unprotected se_x and those who are last to ejaculate are the winners and get their prizes. When you see immorality being honoured to this level, we are doomed because issues of child-marriages will be difficult to stop. Some will be drunk and high on drugs.

“Our policy makers should be on high alert and put laws that will protect the young generation before it is late,” added George.

Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe representative Portia Kurima said the nature of questions posed by the students were reflective of what is happening in society.

“They were bringing up issues that at times are difficult to discuss at home but through this platform, we managed to engage and exchange information. We have a position paper which we are going to submit to the portfolio committee on gender which looks at the alignment of family laws,” said Portia.
