Blessing Shumba to Collaborate With Mashaba

Mutare-based gospel musician, Blessing Shumba is set to collaborate with popular South African gospel artist Winnie Mashaba. 

Born in Buhera in 1979, Shumba is one of Zimbabwe's gospel music kingpins having changed the face of the gospel music scene with his distinct type of music that has seen other musicians copycatting.

The collaboration will see Shumba holding live shows with Mashaba both in South Africa and Zimbabwe soon.In a recent interview, Shumba said arrangements are at an advanced stage with both their lawyers working on the paperwork.

"We have made arrangements to work with Winnie and this will see us performing shows together both in SA and back home.

"We agreed that I will be marketing her brand and she will be doing the same in South Africa," he said.

Shumba who is the Christ Fellowship Assembly pastor hailed Winnie for being a humble and mature gospel artist whom he has a great passion to work with.

"It is such an honour working with a musician of such a caliber. She is so humble and one thing you cannot take away from her is her talent," he said.

The collaboration will also see Sumba and Winnie composing songs together.

"Both of us have released albums recently and we have agreed to give time for both albums on the market, so that we can start composing songs," said Shumba. As part of growing his brand, Shumba is this weekend expected to perform in Chimoio Mozambique, on the country's Independence Day commemorations.

The brand ambassador for the Manicaland National Blood Services Zimbabwe, Shumba said he was happy to be chosen among other gospel artists to perform in Mozambique.

"It is by the grace of God that one can be chosen among others to fulfil a national duty, I am very happy because this will be the time to put the Zimbabwean gospel music on the international map and as well spreading the word of God," he said.
