Winky D Steals Show At ‘Fill Up HICC’ Campaign

It was glitz and glam at the HICC on New Year’s Eve as revellers were treated to spectacular performances by Zimbabwe’s top notch musicians as part of the ‘Fill Up HICC’ campaign.

The campaign which was organised by Jah Prayzah and his management team in a bid to detect the artist’s fame as well as setting pace from Casper Nyovest’s event where he filled up the Coca Cola Dome, was well attended despite him getting back up from other musicians.

Though Jah Prayzah lived his dream on the night, it was Winky D who rocked the show and illuminated the early hours of 2016 with the hit ‘Disappear’ which sent fans frenzy into the new year.

It is with no doubt ‘Gafa’ as the musician is fondly known after his latest album, is the man of the moment for fans would sing along to most of his tunes.

For the key performer, Jah Prayzah it was a different tale, with his band getting a rude awakening from fans who threw missles at them and a large chunk displacing before he got to perform.

Never the less, he managed to calm down the fracas and got fans dancing to his hits ‘Eriza’ and ‘Chinamira’.

Among the artists who performed at the event were, Sulumani Chimbetu, Roki who seem to have been so unlucky on the night after he was forced to leave the stage, Alexio Kawara and Seh Calaz who couldn’t keep up the live spirit.

The show which was the first of its kind in Zimbabwe set Winky D on top of the board with his energetic showcase and a song that acts as a ray of hope to many for they will be singing their ‘problems out’ in 2016. However, Jah Prayzah can stand out proud for such an initiative.
