Gov’t Accuses Diaspora of Causing Anglophone Violence On Social Media
The government of Cameroon has blamed the violence that has been going on in the two English-speaking regions of the country on the diaspora.
Prime Minister Philemon Yang blamed “the diaspora… crouched in the shadows” for the violence which has engulfed parts of the country while unveiling an emergency response plan for victims in the affected anglophone regions.The Prime Minister said Cameroonians living abroad have used social media to “spread hate speech and terror” and to even “order murders”.

The emergency plan which the Government of Cameroon revealed, went ahead to list at least ten anglophone Cameroonians whom the government accused of raising funds in fueling the violence.
The government of Cameroon also added that they had written to the host countries to repartriate these Cameroonians to face the law.
