[Urgent]: Writer Patrice Ngagan Deferred

Patrice Nganang is no longer in custody at the General Directorate of Judicial Police of Yaoundé.

Information reaching the editorial staff of CameroonWeb, indicates that the Cameroonian writer has just been referred Wednesday morning to the High Court of Yaounde where he will be presented before the Prosecutor.

Since his arrest last Wednesday, Patrice Nganang was detained and auditioned at the premises of the judicial police in Yaoundé.

Three counts had initially been held against the writer including illegal immigration, forgery and use of forgery and outrage and death threat to the President of the Republic.

This last charge will eventually be dropped.

As a reminder, Patrick Nganang was arrested Wednesday night while traveling to Harare, Zimbabwe.
