Suspected Armed Ambazonians Stormed School

English-speaking activists in Cameroon took action again last Saturday by burning a school in Jakiri in the Bui department.According to local sources, five gunmen allegedly stormed Jakiri bilingual high school on Saturday night and set it on fire. 

According to the testimonies collected, the attackers allegedly attacked the school around 8:30 pm after threatening the two guards who then fled before setting fire to the school's administrative building.

Witnesses also report that activists have threatened to burn any school that will be open in English-speaking areas until the end of the Anglophone crisis.

In addition to Jakiri's bilingual high school, three other schools and one church were reportedly burned over the weekend according to police sources.

In response to these attacks, the Jakiri sub-prefect, Patrick Suh, announced a reinforcement of security measures around schools.
"I want to assure the students that there will be classes on Monday, November 6th. I will be in high school on Monday to talk to the students.
