‘Prophet Magaya receives training from Prophet Makandiwa’

The founder and leader of PHD Ministries, Walter Magaya is really showing signs of listening and admiring Emmanuel Makandiwa of UFIC. One can not fail to notice the dramatic change of dressing by Magaya from the too casual to the “Makandiwa type” of suits.

Magaya who last year made a surprise visit to Makandiwa during a UFIC Sunday church service has been rumoured to be under Makandiwa’s mentorship since then. This reporter sought a comment from Seer Ishu a former PHD leader who recently resigned under unclear circumstances and he confirmed the mentorship allegations as partially true. Ishu confirmed that after the two met Magaya told his close leaders that Makandiwa had given him a lot of helpful tips on ministry and that included the dress code.
“He told us that Prophet Makandiwa was a good man who was not jealous contrary to reports that he had been told but the mentoring issue only happened for a few days and Prophet (Magaya) was not able to keep up with the levels of the man(Makandiwa) in many areas especially that of a clean life” said Ishu.

When asked to clarify on what he meant by ‘a clean life’ the Seer (Pastor) declined to shed more light reminding this reporter that he is not with the PHD church anymore. He also refused to explain the circumstances surrounding his departure but TheHeadBoyNews still investigating and will report soon.

The PHD leader who has marketed himself as a “humble man” traditionally known to wear sandals, a formal trousers and a shirt or t/shirt during services shifted in recent weeks to smart suits. The new dress code for Magaya is of suits that are not TOP END like that of Makandiwa his suspected mentor, maybe its a way of still trying to maintain the humble status if it’s the prices that have limited him .

It’s not only the dressing that has changed. Tendai Magaya was for the first time recently seen on the same poster with her husband Walter Magaya advertising a church event as is the norm with Makandiwa who goes as far as giving his wife the platform to lead all the women’s programs in UFIC. This is what has raised the question “Does Magaya listen to Makandiwa ?” as Magaya has not been a preacher that appears with his wife in public. Many leaders have silently followed Makandiwa’s footsteps with many churches including Magaya’s PHD having gone as far as copying marketing merchandise like the wrist bands. It’s a sign that the PHD leader could have been following and copying Makandiwa even before his visit to him.

Efforts to get a comment from Seer Mango were fruitless as his phone went unanswered.
