‘Baby Makandiwa’ Takes Zim Social Media & Believers By Storm
Just when the public thought they’d exhausted the list of outrageous things that new age prophets are so fond of doing, therein unravels another plot twist in the form of yet another prophet’s antics.
From anointed soil, anointed cucumbers, arresting Satan, miracle babies and spiritual spectacles, prophecy in Zimbabwe in now resembling a soap opera. In a bid to outshine each other and pull large audiences, some prophets have resorted to monkey tricks in order to remain relevant.Prophet Assan Makombe of is the latest prophet on the block who has quickly captured the public’s attention. While he hasn’t performed any newsworthy miracles yet he has already set tongues wagging.
One can’t help but notice the startling resemblance in style to one Emmanuel Makandiwa who is one of Zimabwe’s most influential prophets.
To onlookers, it is pretty obvious where prophet Makombe draws his inspiration from. The public has already started dubbing him as ‘Baby Makandiwa’ “Makandiwa v2.0’ ‘Makandiwa Lite’.
This comes after one sharp social media user connected the dots and matched two pictures in which both prophets wore identical suits. While we might have wanted to chalk it up to a coincidence, the similarities do not end there.

Some have pointed out that the controversial picture belonging to Makombe is the work of good photo shopping skills. Since he is not yet influential, it’s a possibility that he is lacking in funds and found it difficult to finance his own posters.

Another suggestion is that Makombe is an ardent follower of Makandiwa who has taken his love for the prophet to fanatical heights. This is not a new feat in the country’s religious circles. A few years ago when Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s Christ Embassy church was at its peak in the country, male members of the church imitated Pastor Chris’ style i.e wearing suits and relaxing their hair to match the prophets’s sleek hair style. Makombe has been named a Makandiwa fanboy who is trying to milk his associating with the prophet to gain fame.
However wild the theories are, prophet Makombe has managed to capture the public’s attention and many will be flocking to his church to investigate for themselves if the similarities with Makandiwa end on their choice of clothing or there is more than meets the eye.
If anyone is need of a less uptight and funnier version of prophet Makandiwa, prophet Assan Makombe might just be the man.
