Biya Works in a Presidency Where Women are Excluded From Strategic Posts and Where Secrecy Is a Culture

The Paris based international news magazine Jeune Afrique has again made a rather amazing revelation about the 84 year old Cameroonian dictator, Paul.

The French paper says Paul Biya was received in 1940 at a sacristy of a Catholic Church in Nden in the South region and then enrolled in the pre-eminent Saint-Tarcisius of Edéa in the Littoral from there to St. Joseph of Akono Minor Seminary in the Center.

Suddenly, the future president of Cameroon decided to abandon the seminary for a reason that remains till date a mystery.

Biya opted for Lycée General Leclerc de Yaoundé against the enrollment into a major seminary with a cassock with 33 buttons.

He then left Cameroon for further studies in France, but remained close to religious circles and, in particular, Louis-Paul Aujoulat, an influential secular missionary installed in Cameroon, who eventually recommended him to Ahmadou Ahidjo.

When he took office in 1982, he continued to live like a true Roman Catholic Christian, unconventional, austere and sober in the Etoudi palace that had the silence of a monastery.

The paper revealed that he is no longer a genuine Roman Catholic but pays regular visits to the Pope. He works in a presidency where women are excluded from strategic posts and where secrecy is a culture.
