Zimbabwe: University of Zimbabwe Theatre Dept Launches Firm
The University of Zimbabwe Theatre Arts Department last Friday launched Inku.bat.ion, a media and events company, which seeks to become a one-stop shop for media and event-related activities not only at the campus but the broader corporate world.
Inaugural general manager of the company Alexander Mukandatsama said the company would also provide a platform for brilliant theatre arts students to practically input their skills through events coordination."We realised we need such kind of a company as a way of empowering the students to get a practical feel of the industry. It is a historic breakthrough that provides students a platform on which constructive and effective interaction with the corporate world can be achieved. It also brings this esteemed department back to the heartbeat of events in the country's social hub," Mukandatsama said.
The company is the brainchild of enterprising Theatre Arts Honours 3 students under the guidance of Mr Ngoni Muwonwa, a lecturer and also the augural patron of the company.

Besides members of staff and students from the Theatre Department, the launch was also graced by representatives of WAFEST, PARMENAS, MEDIA CHAMA and TED, to name just a few.
The event opened with the introduction of the company's executive and managerial boards and a speech by Mukandatsama, which chronicled the background behind leading to the formation of the entity.
Acoustic music from an upcoming musician Tawanda Mutsambo serenaded the audience. It was fitting that another student, Tanaka Mongoyo, who is an upcoming poet-cum-hip-hop artiste had to close the event with a memorable high voltage performance, which left the audience enthralled and calling for more.
The formation of the company is an endeavour by students eager to invest their talents in a meaningful way.
