Namibia: Three Women Nabbed for Smuggling Drugs
THREE Windhoek women were arrested while trying to smuggle drugs into the Windhoek Correctional Facility on Tuesday, police said.
Police spokesperson Inspector Slogan Matheus confirmed the arrests.According to prisons deputy commissioner general Tuhafeni Hangula, the women were found with dagga, Mandrax tablets, cellphones and tobacco.
"This always happens, and we arrest people for smuggling drugs to the inmates. This time around, we are sending a stern warning that we are not going to go easy on smugglers.

The women, whose names cannot be revealed, were taken into custody at the same Windhoek Correctional Facility, and are expected to appear in court today.
In an unrelated incident, police are looking for a male suspect who allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl on Tuesday around 22h00 at Tseiblaagte at Keetmanshoop.
Matheus said the victim was on her way home from church when she was raped.
"The suspect grabbed the victim and dragged her to a nearby house, where he raped her. The suspect is known in the area, and police are appealing for assistance from the community to apprehend him. Investigations into the matter are underway," he said.
At Uis, a 20-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a 33-year-old suspect after he dragged her behind a certain house and raped her.
Matheus said the suspect was arrested on the same day, and is expected to appear in court today.
