Youth Finds Purpose for Used Bottles
Tsabong — When a 29-year-old Mr Teko Villander of Tsabong started off by collecting empty used bottles most people, especially his peers, dismissed him as an attention seeker.
But, he never felt discouraged for he knew he had a goal to achieve.Today, he owns and runs a successful business, which specialises in designing wine glasses and other ornamental items through the use of old bottles.
In an interview with BOPA recently, the self-made entrepreneur said he has no formal training pertaining to his business; however the advice from his clientele and other supporters keeps him going.

Mr Villander noted that he started operating last year and his business was doing satisfactorily.
He said besides profit making, he appreciates his role of keeping the country clean by picking up empty bottles that are always left scattered and posing a health hazard.
Mr Villander noted intends applying for Youth Development Fund (YDF) to purchase advanced machinery and other equipment.
He appealed to the youth to participate in government assistance programmes instead of idling and criticising government initiatives without even giving it a try.
Mr Villander admitted that he has challenges but he did not allow them to dampen his spirit.
He further advised other youth not engaged in any meaningful activities to consider handy jobs as they could help them make ends meet.
Moreover, Mr Villander stated that starting a business from scratch is not an easy task.
